If we are saved by faith alone, do good works matter?
Yes. Good works do not earn salvation, but saving faith always produces them. We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves is never alone.
Right after saying we are saved by grace through faith, not by works, Paul says we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. James says faith without works is dead. Works are the fruit of being saved, never the price.
8for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, that no one would boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
